Beck Harhai
Managing Director
Beck is a Communication Studies major double minoring in Marketing and Health Services. She currently serves as a Voinovich Scholar for Ohio University’s Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Service and has frequented the Dean's List! At Ohio University, she serves as Student Representative for the COMS Alumni Advisory Council, TA for the School of Communication Studies, Treasurer of the Student Professionals of Communication Studies, President of the Women’s Club Basketball Team, and a Public Relations Intern at Akron Children's Hospital.
“I'm excited to work on this campaign because this year's Bateman competition combines both of my passions - communications and health services administration. Health is one of the most important aspects of life, and communication has the ability to spread awareness and create resources for individuals in need. I'm excited to take my healthcare internship experience and passion, apply it to a public relations campaign, and create meaningful, tangible awareness for AYA Lymphoma and Lymphoma resources.”
Outside of her academic pursuits, Beck’s hobbies include working out, watching sports, hanging out with friends, shopping, and listening to Taylor Swift!
Demetra Miller
Creative Director
Demetra is a Communication Studies major, pursuing a minor in Advertising & Public Relations and working towards a certificate in Social Media. She has received the OHIO Success Scholarship and is a frequent Dean’s List recipient! At Ohio University, Demetra has been a member of PRSSA for 3 years. She has been Recruitment 365 Director and Bid Day Chair for Alpha Xi Delta. Demetra has also served as the Internal and Creative Account Executive for 1804 Communication. Currently, she is a Press Coordinator In Training through Brilliant PR and Marketing's Public Relations Internship program.
“I’m very excited to work on this campaign because our client, The Lymphoma Research Foundation, is very near to my heart. My Poupou suffered from Lymphoma throughout the later years of his life. This is the perfect opportunity to show my creative skills for the greater good of others affected by this disease.”
During Demetra's free time, she likes to cook Greek recipes from her 700-page Greek cookbook, travel to different cities throughout the U.S., shop for and design outfits, work on her social media brand, and spend quality time with friends and family!
Makenna Goad
Social Media & PR Specialist
Makenna is a Strategic Communication major with a minor in Marketing and a certificate in Social Media. She has received the David C. Mitchell Scholarship and has been on the Dean List’s every semester! At Ohio University, she is a Performance Team Member for OU Vibes and the Social Media Chair for the University Program Council.
“I’m excited to be working on this campaign because I am able to be a part of something that is bigger than myself. Conceptualizing and executing an entire public relations campaign is no small feat and something I have never done before, so diving in headfirst is very exciting and I’m thrilled to see how our final product will turn out. I am overjoyed to be utilizing my social media skills that I’ve acquired over my time at OU and I’m also grateful to be working with such an amazing team!”
In Makenna’s spare time, she likes to attend concerts, go thrift shopping, dance, obsess over Harry Styles and experiment with film photography!
Lauren Reed
Event Planning Specialist
Lauren is a Journalism major with a specialization in Strategic Communication, a minor in Marketing, and working towards a Social Media certificate. She is a member of the Ohio Honors Program and a Dean’s List recipient! At Ohio University, she is a Member of the Sierra Coalition and a Tour Guide for Ohio University.
“I’m excited to be a part of the 2022 Bateman campaign because this is the biggest public relations campaign that I have worked on so far! Over the summer I interned with the Bethesda Foundation which allowed me to gain experience working in healthcare.”
When Lauren has downtime, she likes to hike, cook, and travel!
